| Youth Appreciation Week Each November we
select several youth from Portland that have
managed to change their lives around, and are now contributing back
to their community. Far to often we are quick to chastise our youth
when they get into trouble and short of praise when the do good.
Youth Appreciation is meant to offer praise for a job well done. |
Christmas Baskets We realize
that there are many organizations that give baskets to needy
families at Christmas time, so we have adopted families who have
children that have cancer. Often times these families
are left broke from medical bills, and have no avenue of help.
We supply them with gift certificates to buy Christmas presents and
on Christmas Eve, we deliver a complete ready to eat Christmas meal |

Respect for Law Each club
has their ideas about how to have
Respect for Law.
The
NE Portland Club has dedicated a plaque in honor of the memories of
two fallen Portland Police. Each year an officer is selected
to receive the Colleen Wibel, and award.
The award consist of a name plate added to the plaque that hangs on
a wall in the NE Precinct, and they receive a smaller plaque to for
the home. |
| Kids Day at Oaks Park Is our signature fund
raiser. Each year we adopt a an organization such as the
Candlelighters to raise funds for. We sell all day ride
bracelets to Oaks Park in Portland, which admits one person on to
each ride for the day, and we supply them with lunch. All of
the proceeds go to the Candlelighters. |
Fishing Derby Each summer we
try to round up a group of kids and take them out to a trout farm
where they can fish. The idea here is that if you give a
person a fish, they eat for a day, but if you teach them to fish,
they eat for life. Our fishing derby day gives a needy child a
chance to feed his/her family. A invaluable lesson.

| Tri Star Sports Program The
Tri Star Sports program allows underprivileged childre n
the opportunity to compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place with in a
certain age group. Many of these children never compete in such
things, our hopes are that win or lose they will learn a valuable
lesson that trying is better than not trying at all.
